BAINBRIDGE, Ga. – Dothan picked up its first win of the season as Robert Walker fired a 2-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the Tigers’ 7-1 win over Miller County (Ga.) Tuesday.
Walker, Adrian Kirkland and Daniel Bedsole had two hits. Bedsole had two RBIs. Jonathan LeGrand and Reid Agrella had RBI doubles.
Abbeville Christian 6, Lyman Ward 0 : Chip White threw a 3-hit shutout, striking out 14, and had two hits for ACA (1-1). Cody Helms and Caleb Flowers had two hits each. Jonathan Howerton had three RBIs and Dakota Hudson had two RBIs.
Eufaula 10, Dale County 0: Sam Waters, Trey Johns and Raequan Kelley combined to pitch a 1-hit shutout for Eufaula (2-1). Preston Jones led off with a solo home run. Johns, Kelley, Stephen Collie, Jeffrey Fullerton and Joseph Bullock had two hits each and Johns had two RBIs.
JV/JR. HIGH BASEBALL
Houston Academy, G.W. Long split: HA won the opener 12-1. Jacob Beauchamp got the win. Trey McMillan had three hits. Kirk Maddox, Brett Gilmore and Brady Johnson had two hits each. Long won the nightcap 3-1. Chris Medley had HA’s lone hit.
Geneva, Ariton split : Ariton won the opener 5-1 as Preston Herring got the win and Nash Carrington and Trevor Snellgrove had RBIs. Geneva won the nightcap 5-4. Brennan Aycock struck out five in two innings to get the win. Cody Williams scored twice and Isaac Green hit a double for Geneva. Snellgrove had an RBI for Ariton.
VARSITY SOFTBALL
Northview 5, Rehobeth 0 : Kate Benton pitched a 1-hit shutout, striking out 15. Lexie Lee had two singles, Madison Poland had two singles and Angela Buie had an RBI double for the Cougars (1-0).
Dothan 1, Niceville 0 : Kasey Cooper threw a no-hitter and hit a solo home run for Dothan (2-0). Dothan’s JV lost 12-4.
Ashford 9, Carroll 6: Jessica English got the win for Ashford (1-0) and had two RBIs. Rebecca Laney added two hits for the Yellow Jackets.
Headland 15, Pike County 0: Ninth-grader Hannah Howell pitched a five-inning perfect game for the Rams (1-0), striking out seven. Katie Beth Drew went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Brianna Skipper had two hits and three RBIs. Jaycie Walker went 2-for-2 and Claire Bradshaw went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Ariton 6, Goshen 5: Taylor Strickland picked up the win. Offensively, Nicole McInerney had two hits and Haley Goodson had two RBIs.
Ariton 3, Zion Chapel 0 : Taylor Hornsby pitched a five-hit shutout to lead Ariton. Haley Goodson had two RBIs.
Ariton 14, Dallas County 1 : Ariton beat defending Class 4A state champion Dallas County on Monday. Haley Goodson was the winning pitcher and went 4-for-4. Caitlin Butler had two RBIs.

Geneva 5, New Brockton 4 (8 innings): Shay Daughtry got the win, striking out six. Emily Dale had a double and three RBIs.
Northview 7, Rehobeth 3: Bailee Anderson got the win. Anna Kathryn Senn and Brianna Ryan had RBI singles for the Cougars.
BOYS SOCCER
Dothan 2, Houston Academy 0: Luis Pimentel and Nick McGlown scored goals for Dothan (2-0-1). Briant Griggs had both assists. Deyonta Peterson and Gage Sanders combined for the shutout in goal.

Carroll 3, LAMP 2: Sarah Phillips scored three second-half goals to rally Carroll from a 2-0 halftime deficit then played in goal late in the match, preserving a 3-2 win with five saves.
Logan Steele and Taylor Strength had 15 takeaways each and Courtney Cairns had eight saves in goal.
