The Enterprise High School Lady Wildcats improved to 2-0 with a 1-0 win against Charles Henderson Thursday.
“This was a big win for us,” said EHS coach Ben Thompson. “It’s important to start the season off this way, and winning close games against quality opponents is a good sign.”
Junior Kaitlin Strickland notched her second win; Strickland pitched 4 innings, allowed 1 hit and struck out 5.
Brittany Perry earned her first save after pitching 3 innings, allowing 3 hits and striking out 4.
Senior January Page was 1-for-3 at the plate; Page stole 3 bases and scored a run.
“She led off the first inning with a bunt, then stole second, third and home for the game’s only run,” Thompson noted.
Ashley Simon went 1-for-3 and swiped 2 bases for the Wildcats.
Enterprise participated in the Northview Invitational Feb. 20-21. The Lady Wildcat varsity played Holmes County and Charles Henderson and the EHS junior varsity played Kinston and West Florida Friday.
The Cats resume regular-season play traveling to Rehobeth Tuesday for a junior varsity game at 4:30 p.m. Varsity teams take the field shortly thereafter.
Enterprise entertains Elba Thursday with jayvee action beginning at 5 p.m.
