The Enterprise Chamber of Commerce Health Fair Committee and Medical Center Enterprise are planning one of the largest community health fairs in recent years.

According to the chamber, this year marks the 40th annual community health fair where the public can come for educational information and free health check services.

“We provide something for everyone, from adults to senior citizens to children at the health fair, chamber president Phil Thomas said. “Currently, we are taking booth reservations and participants must be based in Enterprise, Coffee County or Fort Rucker and they must provide some type of free health service, screening or testing, educational materials or health care equipment.”

The Health Fair is planned for Saturday, Feb. 25, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Enterprise State Community College gym. Door prizes will be provided by businesses.

Along with the adult side of health care services, a Children’s Fun Fitness Fair is also designed especially for kids.

Business registration for the Health Fair ends Feb. 3. Call the chamber for information on registration at 347-0581.

New this year to the health fair is Leadership Coffee County. In cooperation with the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise Medical Center, LCC is looking forward to the addition of a 5K/Fun Run for the Health Fair.

The 5K will start at the ESCC track at 9 a.m., with the Fun Run to follow at 9:15 a.m. and wind through terrain close to the campus.  The cost is $20 for the 5K, and $15 for the one mile, with a $5 increase in price if registering the day of the event. Pre-registration by Feb. 13 is suggested in order to receive a T-shirt for the event, according to Thomas.

“The run is part of our mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle, but also gives our leadership class valuable experience,” Thomas said. “Plus the proceeds will provide opportunities for future leadership students.”

The theme for the 5K/Fun Run is titled, “Making Strides…Growing Tomorrow’s Leaders”.  Proceeds from the race will supply scholarship funds for selected students in Coffee County Youth Leadership.

Registration information for the LCC 5K Fun Run is available online at www.enterprisealabama.com or www.visitenterprise.com.

Leadership Coffee County is a program under the organizational development of the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, Inc.  The purpose of Leadership Coffee County is to help train and create current and current and future leaders on community and economic development, as well as learn in-depth information about important aspects of business in Coffee County.
