From plants to peanuts and from farming to following career paths, the Enterprise High School FFA celebrates a variety of accomplishments as well as students learning to achieve goals and value their community.
Instructors of the EHS FFA, Alan Waters and Jared Dyess, are proud of the accomplishments of many of the FFA teams that have won in the district and national contests.
“We’re also proud of the new greenhouses at the high school,” Waters said. “The students are learning so much about plant growth, insects, and transplanting.”
This spring, Waters said, the public is invited to come and purchase plants that FFA students have grown in the greenhouses.
Bedding plants and house plants are available to purchase with the proceeds going back into the FFA program.
“We have Wave Petunias, Marigolds, coleus, Begonias, Zinnias by the next two weeks and at the end of March, we’ll have tomatoes and all kinds of peppers the students have grown,” he said. “The public can come anytime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to purchase plants.”
During the celebration of FFA Week, students can participate in dress-up days. Tuesdays is Camo Day, Wednesday is “On the Farm Day,” Thursday is wearing the colors of the FFA –Blue and Gold Day, and at end the week, students can wear western attire.
