The Elba Police Department arrested three in connection with the fraudulent use of a credit card Friday.
Twenty-two-year-old Miranda Lashaw Williams and 26-year-olds Christine Renee Phillips and Santana Annette Flowers were all booked into the Coffee County Jail on second-degree theft of property charges.
Second-degree theft is theft of items valued between $500 and $2,500.
According to Elba Police Chief Freddie Hanchey, the three allegedly used someone else’s credit card illegally and made enough purchases in about one day to warrant the second-degree theft charges.
In other news, the Coffee County Sheriff deputies arrested a man wanted in Hermitage, Pa., on four charges Friday.
Michael Robert Grande, 44, of Rucker Boulevard in Enterprise was wanted in the western Pennsylvania town on three sex crimes.
According to Hermitage, Pa., detective Joel Ristvey, Grande was wanted for felony “indecent assault of a person under the age of 13” and misdemeanors of open lewdness and corruption of a minor.
Indecent assault is defined as “indecent contact with the complainant or causes the complainant to have indecent contact with the person,” according to a University of Pittsburgh website.
In other arrests, the following people were booked into the Coffee County Jail on felony charges from Wednesday until Monday morning:
- Derrick Demier Turner, 30, of Sunset Drive in Enterprise – possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine)
- Clarence Egan, 28, of Apache Drive in Enterprise – unlawful distribution of a controlled substance
- James Melvin Long, 39, of County Road 223, Jack – grand jury indictment of second-degree assault
- Napoleon Lewis Glean, 40, of Clayton – probation revocation
