New Brockton High School teacher Shannon Clark is interested in motivating students to become the best person and student they can be.
Clark said the most challenging thing about teaching is trying to motivate students who are unmotivated. A former head football coach at NBHS, Clark sees potential in all students.
“I love the interaction with young people,” he said. “That’s why I enjoy teaching so much and try to let them see they can enjoy things that they learn.”
Clark began his teaching career at NBHS and has been an educator there for 18 years. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in education and received his master’s degree from Troy University in Dothan in educational leadership.
Three things the educator would like to see or do in his lifetime is to travel to various national parks; be a better father, husband and teacher; and possibly coach football again when his daughter is older, he said.
