One of the largest employment events in the Wiregrass – the Fort Rucker Job Fair, is coming to the Enterprise Civic Center Wednesday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The eighth annual Job Fair draws 2,000 to 3,000 job seekers from across the Wiregrass each year. The event, sponsored by the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce and the Army Community Service Employment Readiness Program, has more than 50 businesses that attend and give out information for potential employees.
According to Chamber President Phil Thomas, “areas are designated for applicants to complete employment applications and for businesses to conduct interviews at the Job Fair.”
Job seekers will meet representatives from a diverse blend of local businesses, government contractors and federal agencies. Applicants should bring at least 10 copies of their resume, Thomas said, and be dressed ready to interview.
Jobs could be available in the fields of retail, logistics, medical, law enforcement, aviation, food service, administration, sales and other areas.
Thomas said the Fort Rucker Job Fair “continues to highlight the connection between Fort Rucker and the Wiregrass area. It reminds the local area of the strength and diversity of our local workforce, strengthening the economic and workforce development.
Classes will be conducted for those interested in maximizing time at the Job Fair. “Preparation is the key to success at these events,” Thomas added.
Classes are Aug. 11 from 2 to 4 at Fort Rucker and Aug. 12, from 10 to noon at the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce. Reservations for the classes are now being accepted. There is no charge for the classes or the Job Fair, but space is limited for classes.
