Delta Sigma Zeta Chapter of Alpha Pi Chi Sorority Inc. celebrated its annual Christmas Prayer Breakfast Saturday, Dec. 19, at Enterprise-Ozark Community College. This year’s prayer breakfast included the sorority honoring women of distinction selected by the sorority at large. These women are: Sorors Elma Brock, Myrllene Kincey-Brown, Dorothy Richardson, Sylvia Terrell, Virginia Tyson and Dorothy Youngblood.
President Lynette Stanley served as mistress of order. The Rev. Paul Grider, pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church, blessed the food and offered special prayers for our city, nation, youth and troops. After breakfast, special music was offered by Delta Sigma Zeta Chapter.
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill toward men was the theme for the occasion. The Rev Cedric Gibson introduced the speaker, Archbishop Carol McComb. Special music was provided by Daleville Christian Fellowship.
The sorority’s annual scholarships were presented to Sydney Brackin and Miss Jamin Reynolds by Sorors Elma Brock and Valerie Brown.
Soror Dorothy Richardson offered thanks and congratulations to attendees and for those who partner with the sorority in providing educational opportunities for youth.
