The Coffee County chapter of the America Red Cross is preparing for its annual fundraiser, Red and White Chocolate Night.
The third annual event is planned for Saturday, Feb. 6, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Jug Brown Recreation Center on Lee Street in Enterprise.
According to Coffee County Chapter Red Cross Director Sue Beckman, the first Red and White Chocolate Night fundraiser “was by one of our board members coming up with the name. We were having a brain-storming meeting about a fundraiser and we decided that was something unique we could do.”
This year’s event will feature special entertainment by Joddy James as “Elvis” and Buck Gaines as “Roy Orbison.” The DJ for the evening will be Showcase Entertainment (Michelle Corey) with dancing tunes from the 50s and 60s era. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and a “table of chocolate” will be catered by Carolyn Brown.
Plenty of games with prizes awarded, door prizes and silent auctions are scheduled throughout the evening.
“We’ll have a great night of fun, food, music and great entertainment,” Beckman said. “Everyone who comes always has a wonderful time and it is for a wonderful cause.”
Only two fundraisers for the non-profit organization are planned throughout the year. The Red and White Chocolate Night, along with a Red Cross Golf Tournament in May.
Tickets to the fundraiser can be purchased at the American Red Cross office located in the Westgate Shopping Center or by calling 347-2461. Tickets are $20 per person.
The fundraiser event is a great way to get out and have some fun and support your local American Red Cross, which provides disaster assistance to the residents of Coffee County and the surrounding areas, Beckham said.
