U.S. Rep. Bobby Bright, right, visited the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce 2010 Business Expo Saturday at the Enterprise Civic Center. Bright visited with the Enterprise Geneva Coffee Economic Development Corporation’s Executive Director Frank Thompson, center, and Troy University’s Small Business Development Center’s Senior Consultant Judy Callin.
Although Saturday was a cold and windy day, visitors were not deterred from attending the second annual Enterprise Chamber of Commerce Business Expo.
Being held at the Enterprise Civic Center for the first time, more than 1,000 visitors, including business owners, displayed showcases of services and wares.
“We had 49 businesses from Enterprise and the Wiregrass participate,” according to ECC President Phil Thomas. “The number of people who attended was unprecedented for us, especially since it was on a weekend, instead of a day during the week like last year.”
From cupcakes to catering services, the businesses provided not only a glimpse of services, but also had a few items to give away to the public.
Notepads, pens, pencils, calendars and many more items provided name logos and phone numbers to potential customers.
Door prizes were also provided by each business as giveaways were drawn throughout the day.
“We’re excited about how many people are here,” C&M Jewelry co-owner Mary Merritt said. “This is a great turnout since the weather isn’t exactly cooperating today.”
Several health services were also offered at the Business Expo. Chiropractor Dr. Craig Hollowell provided visitors with a free spinal screening and other health care businesses provided information on services.
The chamber will host the annual 2010 Enterprise Area Community Health Fair Saturday, Feb. 27, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Enterprise State Community College gymnasium. Admission is free to the event.
