Coffee County selects financial depository
A financial institution with branches in three major locations in Coffee County was selected Monday as the depository for Coffee County funds.
The Coffee County Commission voted unanimously to accept Troy Bank and Trust as the county’s depository for the upcoming year. County Administrator Kathy Lolley recommended that the commission accept the bank’s quote of 1.05 percent interest for the year, noting that it was the only quote received.
The bank operates branches in Enterprise, New Brockton and Elba, Commissioner Robert Stephens said. “That is why I vote for them.”
Lolley said the probate, revenue and circuit clerk’s office’s are authorized to select their respective depositories and asked commissioners to vote on those choices. The probate judge selected CB & T as financial depository. The revenue commissioner selected CB& T, Regions Bank and Troy Bank and Trust as depositories. The circuit clerk selected Wacovia Bank, Troy Bank and Trust, Regions Bank and CB & T as depositories. Commissioners unanimously accepted the choices of all three offices.
