The search for a new Enterprise-Ozark Community College president has been narrowed down from 57 applicants to five semi-finalists from Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Missouri and Ohio.
The public is invited to join the faculty and staff of EOCC in meeting the five finalists at a reception Monday, May 11, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in Lurleen Wallace Hall, Multipurpose Room, on the Enterprise Campus. Reservations are requested and may be made by calling Ms. Susan Steck, the Colleges liaison to the Search Committee, at (334) 347-2623, ext. 2226 or by e-mailing her at ssteck@eocc.edu .
The Presidential Search Committee will interview the five semi-finalists on May 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the Lurleen Wallace Hall, Multipurpose Room, on the Enterprise Campus. These interviews are open to EOCC employees and the community.
The committee will select three candidates who will go on to be interviewed by Chancellor Bradley Byrne at the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education on May 13. These interviews are also open to the public.
Byrne is expected to present his recommendation to the Alabama State Board of Education at its meeting on May 28.
The five semi-finalists are:
Patricia K. Adkins from Westerville, Ohio is the Provost for Columbus State Community College. She holds an A.S. degree, a B.S. degree in elementary education, a M.S. degree in education, training and development, and an Ed.D. degree in educational administration.
Rodger Bates from Fayetteville, Georgia is the dean of the College of Professional Studies at Clayton State University. He holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in sociology.
Nancy W. Chandler of Enterprise, Alabama is the interim president for Enterprise-Ozark Community College. She holds an A.A. degree, B.S. and M.S. degrees in education/mathematics, and an Ed.D. degree in curriculum and instruction/mathematics.
James L. Kimbrow of Poplar Bluff, Missouri was the executive vice president/vice president for Academic Affairs at Three Rivers Community College. Kimbrow holds an A.S. degree in vocational-technical education, a B.S. degree in professional aeronautics: airways facilities, an M.S. degree in operations management, and an Ed.D. degree in higher education leadership.
Gary Stretcher of Port Neches, Texas is the vice president for Academic Affairs at Lamar State College-Port Arthur. He holds a B.S. degree in social sciences, a M.S. degree in student personnel and guidance, and an Ed.D. degree in supervision, curriculum, and instruction.
