Alleged rape suspect may be illegal immigrant

A man arrested Thursday in connection to an Aug. 29 rape is being investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to law enforcement officials.

A man arrested Thursday in connection to an Aug. 29 rape is being investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to law enforcement officials.

Enterprise police arrested 24-year-old Pedro Lucas Hernandez of Dixie Drive and charged him with first-degree felony rape. Hernandez, who is originally from Guatemala, allegedly has several aliases including “Andres Alonzo” and “Andres Elder”, according to Capt. Mike Lolley.

“We’re trying to determine his immigration status because of the different aliases and dates-of-birth he provided us,” said Lolley.

Hernandez’s bond was set at $60,000 by Judge Paul Sherling with a condition that ICE officials be notified.

In other law enforcement news, Elba police arrested 30-year-old Undray Chism on a warrant Tuesday and charged him with felony buglary, felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle, misdemeanor criminal trespassing, and misdemeanor domestic violence. Once in the Coffee County Jail, deputies charged Chism with misdemeanor contempt of court relating to child support and misdemeanor failure to appear on a harassment charge.

Enterprise police arrested 21-year-old Megan Leeann Richards of Westfield Road on a warrant Tuesday and charged her with first-degree felony theft of property.

The EPD arrested 43-year-old Lester Charles Hayes of McGee Street Thursday and charged him with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Coffee County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 23-year-old Tamika LaShay Stinson of Daleville Avenue on a warrant Thursday and charged her with felony probation violation. Stinson was previously charged with theft of property and assault.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested 39-year-old Christopher Smith of Bellwood, Ala. on Thursday and charged him with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested 20-year-old Moses Isaiah Griffin in Opp on a warrant Thursday and charged him with felony probation violation.

Deputies also arrested 28-year-old Stephen Michael Rushing of Opp on Thursday and charged him with first-degree felony criminal mischief.
