Mr. and Mrs. Perry L. Oakes of Auburn, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter Alison Joy to Christopher Alan Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Baker of Enterprise, Ala.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Hayes and the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Estes Oakes of Sylacauga, Ala.
She is a 2003 graduate of Auburn High School and is currently a doctoral student in the Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn University. While an undergraduate at Auburn, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega social sorority.
The future bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Scroggins of Ocoee, Fla., and Mrs. John H. Baker and the late Mr. Baker of Enterprise, Ala.
He is a 2002 graduate of Enterprise High School and a 2006 graduate of Auburn University with a B.S. degree in Communications. While at Auburn, he was a member of the Auburn University Singers.
The wedding is planned for July 19, 2008, at Auburn United Methodist Church.
A reception will follow at the Fountainview Mansion in Auburn.
