Three arrested on meth charges in Elba
Three people were arrested in Elba after Coffee County Sheriff’s Department Investigators were led to a residence believed to be manufacturing methamphetamine.
Arrested were Randy Lynn Odom, 31, of Vinemont; Jessica Marie Griffin, 32, and Marvin William Griffin, 31, both of Claxton Avenue in Elba.
All three were arrested and charged with first-degree manufacturing, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators Tony Harrison and Anthony Dozier, along with Elba police officials, went to 472 Claxton Ave. in Elba, said Sheriff Dave Sutton. As the door opened to the residence, fumes from the meth manufacturing process boiled out the door.
Investigators found the suspects in the process of making methamphetamine with finished product in the house, along with drug paraphernalia used make the drug and smoke it.
The hazardous materials team was called in and residents in an apartment next door were evacuated because of toxic fumes coming from the house.
The suspects in the Coffee County jail are waiting on initial appearances before a judge as of press time.
