A mid-morning shooting Tuesday in front of El Xitomate Mexican Restaurant in Westgate Center in Enterprise resulted in some property damage, but no one was injured.

According to witnesses and Enterprise Police Chief T.D. Jones, the shooting was domestic-related. Heriberto Miranda Garcia, 33, fired three shots from a small caliber handgun at his ex-wife, Carla Farias, a waitress at the restaurant.

Farias and two other passengers were in a vehicle in front of the restaurant at about 10 a.m. The car was struck on the passenger side where Farias was sitting, but she was uninjured by the attack and was sent home for the day by restaurant manager Helio Garcia.

Heriberto Miranda Garcia, is Hispanic, 5-feet, 11-inches, 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes and is described as having a thin mustache. He fled the scene in an older model maroon Nissan Pathfinder, but the unoccupied vehicle was later located in a wooded area off Ouida Street.

Police are still looking for the suspect. Any information on his whereabouts should be directed to the Enterprise Police Department at (334) 347-2222.
