An Enterprise man was charged with reckless endangerment and issued six tickets by state troopers after a high speed motorcycle chase through the city Saturday.

According to reports, Nicholas Edward McCrainie, 19, led law enforcement in the chase that began on Shellfield Road, followed on the Boll Weevil Circle and down Highway 27 South near County Road 636.

Around 11:15 a.m., state troopers spotted a 2002 silver Yamaha motorcycle with no tag. McCrainie reportedly then sped off to try to avoid the trooper. The chase pursued with units from Enterprise and the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department following McCrainie through traffic and down Highway 27 South where the chase ended.

McCrainie’s motorcycle turned on the pavement at the intersection of C.R. 636 and was “laid down on its side,” according to officials.

McCraine was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and issued tickets for speeding and other vehicle violations by state troopers. He was released from the Coffee County Jail on a $1,000 bond.
