Five male juveniles from the Pathway Juvenile Facility in Coffee County were recaptured Thursday and returned to the wilderness treatment facility outside Enterprise after they left without permission during the night.
The boys were all younger than 16, Executive Director Skip Hemp said Thursday morning. The youths were discovered missing during a routine bed check by Pathway staff, and authorities were immediately nofified, he said.
Enterprise Police Capt. Mike Lolley said the Enterprise Police Department received a report early Thursday regarding the escape. Three of the boys were apprehended by Enterprise Police Department officers on Rucker Boulevard. Coffee County sheriff’s deputies located the other two youths at the Inland station the Boll Weevil Circle and Alabama Highway 167 North, Lolley said.
Pathway is a residential treatment facility for males ages 12 to 18.
